Privacy Policy

YepWord doesn't ask you to sign up, and there are no accounts. It makes and checks your bingo cards, word searches, and word scrambles in your browser. It uses Google Analytics to count visits and how often games are made, printed, and shared. This page explains what information is handled when you visit and who is responsible for it.

Who is responsible

YepWord is run by Masaaki Morishita, who decides how the information described on this page is used. For questions about it, email hello@yepword.com.

What you enter

The game tools make the cards, grid, puzzle, answers, and their checks in your browser. They don't send what you enter (your word list, the number of cards, the card or grid size, the free space, the type size, the paper size, and the seed) to a server, and YepWord doesn't save it.

So that a link reopens the same set, the tools put your settings, including your word list and the seed, in the page's address (the part after the ?). Anyone you share the address with can see your words, and your browser may keep the address in its history. When you open or reload an address that holds them, when someone you shared it with opens it, or when you go from that page to another page (as the address of the page you came from), Cloudflare, which hosts the site, receives the full address and may record it in its logs. Google Analytics receives the address without that part. If there are words you don't want to share, leave them out of any link you send.

Visit statistics

YepWord uses Google Analytics 4, a service from Google, to see which pages are visited and how often the game tools are used. It sets two cookies on this site for up to two years: _ga holds a random identifier for your browser, so that repeat visits can be counted, and _ga_ followed by an ID keeps track of your current visit.

It records information such as the page you visit, the site that linked to it, your approximate location (country, region, and city, worked out from your IP address), your browser and its language, your operating system, device type, and screen size, the time of your visit, whether you scroll to the bottom of a page, and the links you follow to other sites, including their addresses. When a tool shows a set, when you use one of its print buttons, and when you use Copy link, it records which of these happened, the game (such as word bingo), and a range for the number of cards or words (such as 11-30). It doesn't record your word list, the link you copied, or the seed. Google Analytics doesn't log or store IP addresses.

Hosting

YepWord is hosted on Cloudflare. To deliver pages, report pages that fail to load, and protect the site from attacks, Cloudflare processes technical information about each request, such as your IP address, your browser, and the address requested. If Cloudflare needs to check that a visitor isn't a bot, it may set a cookie for that check. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for how it handles this information.

Advertising

YepWord doesn't show ads and doesn't use advertising cookies. If ads are added, this page will be updated.

Email

If you email hello@yepword.com, Cloudflare Email Routing forwards the message to the operator's inbox. Your email address and message are used only to read and act on what you sent. They aren't sold or used for marketing.

Children

YepWord isn't directed at children under 13 and doesn't knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

When YepWord starts or stops using a service that handles your information, including ads, this page is updated at the same time, and the date at the top changes.
